I'd gladly take DP, a 1st, and a Blueger/Bjorkvist type prospect for Tatar. |

Essentially 2 2nds and a 1st in a bad draft year. I'd do that deal a year ago when Tatar had a year of control at a cheap price. Not sure now. He only has 1 rfa year of control then UFA. For a 1 year rental that is likely going to run 4.5 or more seems expensive. |

You would be giving up 0 roster players for an elite 2 way forward that is an RFA you could lock up for 5+ years. |

I'm all for giving up our average prospects for another teams best players. Reminds me of the Hawks blog where they want to give a mountain of middling prospects for Duchene. |

Wings need to go into a rebuild. Holland just won't admit or accept it. |

Its worth considering. But at that return I would want a contract in place. |

He's an RFA.. without much leverage. Probably under 5mil or 5 years or so. |

You would still have Sprong to do that. |

While that's true, you can't rebuild by trading away your best young players for B and C prospects/low 1st round picks.
Start with Zetterberg, Abdelkader, Helm, Kronwall, Ericsson, Green, Nielsen. If anybody can stomach some of those contracts, take what you can get.

He has 1 year of RFA left. So he has plenty of leverage. He can go to arbitration then go UFA after only 1 year. UFA he would have a shot at 7 years $42. Much more massive contract then you are talking about while only risking 1 year of injury risks. |

Those guys are all untradeable. By the time the rebuild is done and they are ready to compete Tatar would be 30. Might as well gather up as many young resources as possible now. |

What the hell was Holland smoking to give a 32 year old Frans Nielsen $5.25 for 6 years? |
